Our Name
Belay is a term borrowed from a popular Boulder sport — rock climbing — and it can have a couple meanings.
As a noun, a belay can refer to a place where you anchor yourself to a rock.

As a verb, it means to apply tension to a rope to keep a climber from falling, and to lessen that tension as the climber ascends — making possible a successful climb.

Our Prayer
In a similar way, our prayer is that Belay will be an anchor that makes it possible for people to…
- belong to a loving church family,
- believe in Jesus,
- become all God untended, and
- belay others toward belonging, believing, and becoming.
